BMW values?

While visiting my dad recently, he spoke of perhaps selling his two BMW's in the coming year. I am not current on the market for the cars in question. Other than looking at NADA/KBB, maybe I am missing something

1) 2008 535i. One owner. Sport package. 75k miles. Silver/Black. Needs a good detailing. Current on maintenance. NADA and KBB indicate these are about $14-18K

2) 1997 M3. 4dr. 5spd. Sunroof. Cassette. Silver over "Dove"(?) One Owner. Approx 110,000 miles. Clutch replaced. Rear trailing arm bushings replaced. Otherwise stock. Also needs a good detailing. NADA/KBB says $5-7K, but Autotrader ads make it seem like $8-12K asking prices. Not sure what they are actually selling for though.

I'm not looking to solicit offers, just trying to help him figure out values. If/when he pulls the trigger to actually sell, of course I will post here!

I sold my 97 M3 coupe for $7,000 this summer. Similar mileage, but hard miles. The market for sedans may actually be a bit stronger but getting $10,000 for it will be very difficult.

an E36 M3 in 4 dr trim with the 5speed is a special car and often go for a premium as more often than not they are found with the slushbox. Ill never forgive myself for selling my E36 M3. It was really the perfect car.

I would say if you want to sell it fast and properly price it 6.5-8k. A one owner none abused is a good find.

If you want to make a little more but it'll take longer I'd go $9 to 11k. But I'm sure they'll offer you 8k and you'll have to haggle with them.

As they always say. Its worth as much as someone's willing to pay. So it's up to you what kind of sale you want.

18 months ago, I tried to sell my wife's 328I (2008) with 35000 miles. Car looks and drives like new. Blue book had it $19k and ran it on Autotrader for 6 months. Best offer I got was $15k. Decided not to sell it and keep it for retirement (2 yrs away). It now has 36000 miles on it. CarMax offered me $12k. From what I can gather is that there are so many BMWs on lease that the market is flooded with these cars coming off lease. Drive around the Beltway and there are tons of BMWs and just guessing, most are lease cars. Good luck with the sale of the 535 and am guessing the M3 goes fast. Steve

For a price point I recently paid $7.5k for a 98 M3/4/5 w/179k miles.

I didn't care so much about the miles just the maintenance records. Mine had a top end rebuild and new flywheel/clutch installed within the last 10k.

I am original owner of a 97 M3/4, techno violet/mulberry, 5spd, 91k miles. can't help with what the value would be of op's car as i don't pay attention..I ain't never selling mine..it is the perfect combo of fun, utility and track capability. :)
