What do you guys think about a monthly gathering, in the evening locally where we park the cars and hang out? Something to do between fun runs, etc. Location should be [sub]urban, preferably near an establishment that sells beer. Alternate between NoVa and Rockville/Bethesda.

Great idea Greg. I look forward to attending the first gathering. Keep us posted.

Charlie - you are soooooooooooo easy
Seriously, it sounds like a good idea but I'll probably only be able to make it if we do it on a weekend. Between work, commuting and the family there just isn't enough time for me on a week night.
Just let me know if you need/want any help organizing (ie., scouting a location and picking a date).

sounds like a good idea. Weekends work well for me, just not Saturday mornings.

If it's gonna be a week night, then it would help if it were in Rockville/Bethesda. I've gotta drive down from Columbia.

I think this is a great idea (esp the "beer" part). I'm willing to help organize things on the PRMD side. How about next Saturday night, 7-9, at the Fresh-go in Rockville. I bet I can get some other p-car owners to show up ;).

That sounds like the start of a plan and it isn't even a weeknight! :D

Sounds like a great father-son type event . . . have they lowered the drinking age to 4 yet.
After 9:30 in the evening works for me.

Well, this idea took off. I've been out of town the last couple days. The weather looks good this weekend. How about tomorrow night at the Fresh-n-Go (sp)?

I was planning on going. Maybe Lu, too. Unless the SSI's come in today (not likely), I'll have to drive the 993. :(

"Freshgo is a food store like you've never seen" - their words, not mine. Some sort of combination of takeout, grocery store, and resturant. Never been there myself.
As for how to get there, thats pretty easy. Take 270N to exit 5 (Falls Road) south toward Potomac. At the 1st light, take a left onto Wootton Pkwy. Go about 1/2 mile, take a right onto Seven Locks Rd (either the 1st or 2nd light, can't remember which). Its in the Potomac Woods Plaza on the left.

Count me in! I need a reason to get the Green one out of the box anyway. All work and no play for too long... but what good work, the lift is in and good to go!
I would like to offer up the back yard and new shop to host an evening NoVA beer/bull fest as well. Most any non track event weekend is good for me. We can even look at the undersides of cars as well but no tools and beer mixing (Richard) Later in the summer Teresa and I plan to have a good sized party for all our fine P car frends NoVA and PCA.
Anyone with nothing to do this weekend who wants to earn some lift time?:D I am hoping to move into the new shop this weekend. Most of the stuff I can move myself but I have some big tools, compressors and the like that will require 2 or more people to move up a flight of steps from the ols shop.

Kurt, I just sent you a PM.
Kurt,
Please keep us posted on when you will have some time to have some P-fanatics over your back yard to test out that lift. Anytime this weekend?

Sorry fellas but I'll be out of town this weekend.
Have fun and hopefully there will be a nice turn-out.
BTW Kurt, will there be another opportunity to "earn" some lift time ?

I will be busy on Sat getting yard work and disasembling the big stuff for movement on Sunday. Sunday looks good for any and all to stop by and play. I will put up a stock of beer. I will be at the house all day Sunday moving stuff. There are only 3 large saws and a compressor that need more than one person to move but being somewhat of a materals pack rat I seen to have colected a lot of "stuff" over the years that I need to pack up or chuck.
It looks like folks are coming over around 1:00 pm to help move some things. I will prep things for moving and hope that the moving will not take much more than an hour or two. Beer and pizza to follow.
Directions to the house. We live on Orland st near the West Falls Metro. From 66 take exit 66 Rt 7 East towards Falls Church. Take a left at the first light onto Haycock. Go 3 lights or so (might be 4 they keep adding them) and turn left onto Westmorland. Go 200 yards and turn right onto Orland st. We are at the end on the right. Can’t miss it, there is a big white enclosed car trailer out front.
Feel free to call and let me know if you want to come by and or need better directions.
