Anyone have or use an Everlast brand Tig machine. Any reviews advice good or bad. Ive only had older miller and lincoln machines the older Xmer type. I have used some of the newer miller inverter units. Curious how they compare. I have a lead on a fairly new unit 225LX for under $1k (3 torches, consumables, 3 years left in 5 year warranty, etc.). I have a PowerUltra 205, which is a combination TIG, Stick, and Plasma cutter. I've only tried tig welding once in my life, and it worked on this machine. How well, I don't know because I'm a novice TIG welder.

I've been disappointed with the plasma cutter aspect of it. I and two other people tried to get it to work, and we tried every combination of air pressure and current. I sent it in for repair. It took about 3.5 months for them to get it back to me. You need to pay for shipping on repairs, which is about $60 each way because the think weighs a ton.

In the end, they said it was just user error, the consumables were spent, and sent it back to me. I've not tried it since they sent it back. But we put brand new consumables on it, and it wasn't working for me, so I don't know.

For how much I use it, I guess its OK. The price is right. But if I were serious about using it, I'd get a U.S. company's product.

Yep. I havent heard much bad about this specific model. They seems to market it as a shop duty welder or pro level hobbyist. Comparable to the Dynasty 200 DX from what I can gather ... like I said not super familiar with the inverter units other then grabbing one of the small miller inverter units to weld CuNi at work on site that about all I have played with it. I almost bought a Lincoln Squarwave 355 tig machine a couple weeks ago for under cheap in a surplus action. Old and bullet proof but heavy. I just couldnt power it as it takes 100amp plus. IT was so cheap ;). I bought an Eastwood 200 amp AC/DC unit and sent it back. I wasnt impressed at all. The synchrowave in the main shop its our other machine which I use the most.

No direct experence. Know of 2 Everlast branded machines (don't know just which ones but they were all in one types) that were purchased, tried, messed with to try and make everything work right and sent back after much frustration with the machine and then arguing with the seller.

I have not had any issues with any of my Miller gear. 2 migs, a plasma* and a 250 tigrunner. If I had a do over I woud not get a Miller plasma cutter. There are better brands of cutters for the money such as Thermal Dynamics. the Miller uses a bit more expensive and less long lasting consumables.

My tig is an old skool copper winding 300 pound thing. it works well but is the mostly square wave 60 cycle type. Tried a Miller inverter based tig at a trade show and liked it. A fully square wave and being able to run the HZ up and down is very nice. Better heat and arc control.

How long ago did you buy that unit?

It's about 3 or 4 years old.

Thanks. Good point VG I have tried to stay away from 2 in ones etc because I had similar issues. I found a used Econotig for $600 but I wanted more machine and alittle more turn down. The main reason I was entertaining the Everlast was it still had 3 years on the warranty and was built more for pro use. If I can find an older unit rebuilt that might still be an option as well but I cant seem to find anything local or atleast in the state.
