Anybody want to help me install those new turbo tie rods I picked up at Hershey? Beer (no Pabst) and burgers/dogs will be provided. This Sat. or next (5/3, 5/10), depending on when/if help is available. I'll be trying that home alignment too after installation.

Dan,

I won't be able to help this weekend and already commited to Greg's engine drop the following weekend. I have that bicycle tool/wrench if you need to borrow. Also, the best way to 'break' the old tie rod loose from the rack is to jack the front end high, swing the tie rod down at a 90-degree and PULL.

I have turbo tie rod's to install, too, Dan. Maybe we can do both cars at the same time.

Jim & Charlie--

Sounds good. I'm going to try the bike shop for that tool, so I may get back in touch with Charlie. Which weekend is better, Jim? We can do it at my place. Ive got a garage.

Dan,

If you go to the bike shop, its a 32mm open end wrench........and the other side can double as the fan pully holder tool.

I used a BFPW . . . none of this surgically precise tool stuff.

Dan, maybe this Saturday is better. I think the following Saturday Greg is planning an engine drop party. I confirm this with you on Friday.

Hey guys,

There is a good Pelican thread going on now RE: this very topic.

Don't forget to clean the threads and use Loctite.

Can't do it this weekend, but I'm free next weekend - unless I end up going to FL or TX to pick up a 993.

Jim and I will probably be doing the tie rods on 5/3. Ive got an employment opportunity that may enable me to post this time next year, that I am unavailable because I am going to England to pick up a 959.

Just one 959? It's really not worth the trouble, then.
