Great idea for a category. There's a section of Popes Head I usually take from the Fairfax Parkway towards Clifton Rd that's got some nice twists and turns. Avoid schoolbus times--no place to pass. A nice twisty route into Prince William County is to start with Popes Head from the Parkway, hang a left onto Clifton, pick up Chapel Rd in the town of Clifton, take a right onto Wolf Run Shoals Rd, bear right onto Henderson Rd, take a left onto Old Yates Ford, and cross Bull Run into Prince William. Yates Ford connects to the PW Parkway.

Dan, this sounds like a lot of fun. BTW - I've only run Popes Head Rd. going from Clifton Rd to Fairfax County Pwky, never in the other direction. Never knew that was allowed.

You know, I never checked--that could be a one way way street.

Here's a Chapel Rd. story.
I used to rip down that road in my 911 at least twice per weekend. I'd get up to 75-80mph on there in some spots, catch air and really give the baby a workout there. In Aug. I was doing just that when my fuel pump cut out and I got stranded on Chapel Rd. on a very hot day with nothing to drink. It SUCKED! I stood there like a cat in the rain, watching all the cars drive by and stare at me. One pleasant middle-aged couple stopped to help. The man offered to help push my baby off the road onto a gravel part of someone's driveway. The kicker was when his wife cautioned me, "The kids like to drive real fast on this road and they whip around these corners, so you should be extra careful while waiting for the towtruck." I nodded and gave her the old Eddie Haskel "Yes ma'am." I guess seeing my black Carrera with whale tail didn't give her the slightest clue that I was one of those kids and had been driving like a nut on that road just a few minutes earlier. I haven't gone back there since.

Richard--
I am shocked that you exceed the posted speed limit. You got what you deserved.

Actually Jim, I really don't think you ever do exceed the speed limit. But your car looks cool even when it's moving slowly.

Oh sh*t! I just realized that Rick Lee is a pseudoname (sp?) for our own nefarious, infamous Richard L.
Just so you know Richard, I was out shopping for ankle weights...just didn't find ones that matched my 993's interior, yet. :P

I felt buying a lowly, slow 911T was the responsible thing to do. Very hard to exceed the speed limt.

Jim--
I have an extra pair of ankle weights in black vinyl. They would look absolutely gorgeous with your interior. Make me an offer.
