I have the 3026 tool for rent. I spend most of my forum time over at MyE28.com (http://www.mye28.com) under the same handle.

Rental info is at www.mooseheadengineering.com (http://www.mooseheadengineering.com)

Hope to hear from you!

Wow, you know I never thought of renting my tools to long time Dorki members... always just let them borrow them and sometimes even offered to help. But hey, could end up being a new income stream for me after I retire!!!111!!!

Seriously? Over a year later? And your first post here? We generally like a little foreplay before the proposition.
I actually bought the tool from a guy who had sold his E46. Probably bought it for less than your rental rate [which I couldn't find on your site, by the way].
Thanks though.

I, too, was taken aback by the "Rental." That's not the kind of board we are - we have pro shops posting (Matt de Maria, Behe, Scotty) but they never offer services - just helpful advice. That said, some of these tools are expensive and rarely used. If no one has one to loan, a rental isn't unreasonable--but I'd expect the renter to have a track record on the board, hopefully a HELPFUL one.

Borrowing a Sir Tools kit for wheel bearings certainly ended up costing me more than a rental would have when I broke the tool, and replaced it with an new upgraded kit (split the upgrade cost with the loaner's very nice spouse). But I assume if I had broken the rental tool, I also would have been reasonably expected to at least replace the broken parts (which I did for the one I borrowed, and now have the tool myself to loan to others).
