Got back from the PCA CR and although my G2X gave me some information on the display while driving, the CF card did not have any data on it for the whole weekend (which makes me mad b/c I set a new personal best).

Working:
-RPMs on display
-shift lights
-mph on display
-lap times on display.

Not working:
-had to set start/finish every single session
-no data recorded on CF card (completely blank and tried a 2GB card and a 128MB card)

Thoughts on where to start troubleshooting?

I wasn't able to get a 2G card to work, even after reflashing the box. Try reformatting (or replacing) the smaller card. Also, Tim is pretty responsive on their forum.

IIRC, that is an indicator it can't read/write the card. The S/F locations are stored on the CF card.

X2. Have you ever used the card before?

I had similar issues with my AIM system and turned out to be the card. Tried reformatting the card which didn't solve the problem. Installed a new card and problem solved.

that would definitely make sense. good to know for next time.

I'm pretty sure the 128MB was one that I've used before, but not 100% certain. I thought I had used the 2GB one once before too but maybe not. I think I've got another one somewhere I can try. If not, buying a brand new shiny one and giving it a shot is definitely an option.

Make sure you are putting the card in the right way, it's easy to slide in backwards and it won't be recorded too. Ask me how I know...

Use something less the 1GB, DOS formatted, not NTFS or extended DOS. Sandisk cards work.

Must have been some sort of magnetic anomaly that weekend. I have data but everytime I try merge to video with Trackvision, the Datalink software shuts down and quits working. A couple of times it would get to Trackvision, but the map would not show up, just a straight line. I feel your pain....Very frustrating..

this sounds like the kind of mistake I would make here... kinda embarrassed I didn't try that AT the track

If you weren't a FREELOADER I'd say send me your .rpk file and I'll take a look.
