Nice! Racing in the rain is fun. ;)
Another plug for "The Art of Racing in the Rain" (it's been about 3 years since discussed on this board) by Garth Stein. Really good read, and refreshing.

My daughter has been "dating" (or whatever it's called these days) the kid who is the baby in that book. It's based on a true story in which the mother died of cancer.

Yes he is. But he has good genetics - his dad was an F1 driver. And he seems to be muscling the Cup car around like it's an F1 car!

Well, for as good as he was, there were at least 3 who were better!

Racecraft, my innocent little lamb.
Once the leader of the series went off, all Sean had to do was finish to take the lead in the championship series standings. The drivers ahead of him were not in the series points hunt, so he chose to finish in the series lead rather than to risk heroics to make a couple more passes on guys that had nothing like as much to loose as did he.

Racecraft, my innocent little lamb. Well, that may or may not be the case. At the end of the day, he was slowly catching the couple of cars ahead, but was followed pretty closely by others. No way to know for sure.
But suffice it to say that whatever he was doing out there that was so awesome, he was not alone.

+100, you can clearly see him back it down considerably at the point where the championship was in the bag and anything more than what was necessary to hold position was now a total risk.
