Help!
I am about to order and install a new Momo steering wheel.
I normally try to get my stuff at OG racing, they are local and if the parts don't work I can just drive and exchange it. But I do not see any of the MOMO steering wheel on there web site I might have to order online and I want to make sure I got it right first time.

Porsche Airbag Delete Bridge Plug Part# 928.612.220.00
Porsche horn contact bracket Part # 964.652.104.00
Is this all what I need ?? Is this a good source??
Thanks
Antonio
Not sure about the airbag delete stuff, but I ordered my Prototipo from Pelican. Forgot to order the hub adapter, so I picked it up at OG. Simple install (besides setting the wheel straight - took me three times ). I was off by 3 teefs.

1) You might not want to get a deep dish wheel + QR + hub. That will put the wheel in your chest unless you're very tall. Might want to look into a 'flatter' wheel.
2) I dislike splined QR hubs. Almost all of them allow you to drive off w/o the wheel locked which can (and HAS!) caused wrecks when the wheel comes off on the track. IMO, either pony up for the ovoid porsche one or get the inexpensive ball bearing type. Both have zero slop and don't easily allow to you get a 'false lock'.

(it says for BMW but will fit any sparco/momo hub & wheel - they're universal)
3) LTB is a good place for momo stuff. Have bought quite a few things from them in the past

Might be good advice for a shorter driver; being 6'5", this exact combo was perfect for me.

x2 on splined QR hubs; never found one that truly had no slop. I love the QR hub I have; I bought it from Kelly-Moss years ago, but I can't find it on-line now. Kurt used this design in fabricating his own; three axial pins on the face for centering, and two spring-loaded opposing radial pins used to secure/remove the wheel. Someone else was telling me about a great new design (Steve W?), but I haven't seen or tried it.

X3 on the flat wheel and adapter. Some including me use a quick release like this

I like the Mod 07, it is a nice wheel. At the time that I needed a wheel I went with OG for the reasons you mentioned, I ordered a Sparco and this one gives the same dish and diameter as the Mod 07. SPARCO STRWHL 345 BLK SUEDE 350MM 13.75" X 63MM 2.5"
I happened to test a spec boxster with this wheel and really liked it. Being able to sit at OG with it helped.
For the QR, go for one with "zero" play not "nearly zero" and also absolutely buy one that always locks centered. I have a pricey Rothsport which is a cup car clone and is keyed so it only enters one way and lines up perfectly.

If it's as nice as rothsport engine bits, I'm sure it's worth it. I can't wait till I'm at the stage to wheel shop, I love the dish on the mod7. A 914 and log legs make for a long reach.
Question, if you did a dish wheel, qr, and adaptor, would you need to modify the shifter to be closer too?

Thanks, DR; that is the style I'm using and it works great.
Haven't seen the Rothsport one, but it looks interesting. Probably designed to be more difficult for McGuyver's to reverse engineer...

Well most people anyway
Vice did a real nice job "making" one. I think he used an old oil drum and some commercial curtain rod! Like my ‘Ol man used to say ”he’s done so much for so long with so little he’s now capable of doing almost anything with nothing.”
 Maybe he can do an article about it for DVgang?

The Rothsport release is a nice piece and mirrors the current one from Porsche Motorsports at about half the price.
Antonio, The Mod 07 wheel is what I have in my car along with the Lifeline quick release (identical to the Sparco) and I have never had issues with the wheel coming off and it has little to no play after several years of use. The spline has a thicker one at 12 O'clock so you can't put the wheel on off centered. If you are under 6ft tall, the wheel could be too close for you so you may want to consider a flat wheel. The hub adapter, paired with a quick release and a flat wheel will line up perfectly for you.
Weather permitting, I can always drive my car to the office when I go up on Thursday, if you want to sit in it and see if the Mod 07 wheel will work for you.

X3 on this QR hub. Have it on my race car & works great!

Haven't done yet, but been meaning to put a mark on the steering shaft piece to correspond with "UP" on the steering wheel. If in a rush, with helmet on, and wheel's weren't straight when steering was last removed, sometimes gets frustrating trying to line it up properly. But still agree that this is MUCH better/safer than driving off with a false positive.

You should checkout TC Racing.org for quick release. He advertises in the Porsche CR news. It is similar to snap-off and I have zero play after 3-4 yeras of abuse.

Thanks for all the information I will get a flat Sparco wheel and the hub from OG Racing and will go with the snap off or the Rothsport release. Once again thanks for all the good information.
