View Full Version : Mystery part
When we turned the engine over, the part shown below fell out. I haven't measured it but photos show part of a key next to it, and my guess is 5/8" diameter, and 1.5" long. I was told it goes below the plate that holds the TDC sensor, but there's no room under there. Perhaps it goes below the throttle linkage plate?

Any help identifying this part is appreciated (preferably before the engine goes back in the car...)

Clean it up, you might even find a part # on it.

If Matt D didn't know......fugetaboutit! :D
I thought you had a 911? How did a 944 cylinder sleeve end up in your car?
That is the spacer from under the throttle linkage plate.

If the car runs without it, you don't need it. :)

x2. So, either a PO has 'lost' one under the shroud long ago or you dropped it and didn't notice it missing when you put that bolt in. Since you were messing w/ the plate not too long ago, I'll guess the latter:)
I was definitely messing with the throttle linkage plate, and with the engine out, very easy to put this back. Thanks, guys!
PS: I brought it with me to Matt's but forgot to ask him!!
