BMW Mechanic

My co-worker has an '03 525i that was making noise in the rear. She took it to a local shop on Kent Island and was told the rear differential is shot. they recommended taking it to the BMW dealer to be repaired. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good BMW mechanic near the Annapolis area you would recommend for this kind of work...

By any chance does anyone know the estimated cost to rebuild/repair the rear differential?

I'd check into used, http://www.bmrparts.com/ if it really needs a dif.
