!!!! i know this car but more importantly, i know (knew) the owner. the owner was a professor at my college; later got some government job. lived in vienna. on the dash, there should be a plaque "made especially for Jay Sculley" (or similar) Dr Sculley passed within the last 12-18 months. i saw the car one time in the Giant parking lot, read the plaque and waited for Dr Sculley to come out and we talked a bit. and yes, it is a sporto.....! he said it was restored but don't know the resto details.

Only problem is that 3 sp. auto. Nice color combo and looks pretty solid.

i thought sporto was 4 speed shift-without-a-clutch?????

Early cars were 4 speeds. I think it was the SCs that got a 3 speed ? but it could have been the 2.7s. Sport-o are beyound imagibation. Put some miles on one some years ago and really liked the car around town. Converter uses engine oil, electric clutch, special oil tank, still has regular clutch disk. Might go look at this one myself ;)

I saw this car up close, if you wanted a driver, fine, but if you wanted a clean car with no issues, then this was not the car. I can't speak to its mechanics, but it had very tired paint and a very worn interior. Not knocking it, but it would take more money to make it perfect(or very good) than it would cost to buy one in very good original, or restored condition. ... I've done both. There is sense of pride that comes with restoring one, that is hard to put a price on. I hope the new owner has many miles of smiles.
