My free engine stand question

I randomly got a free engine stand today. I was picking up free firewood and the guy gave it to me. Timing was perfect. Anyways. It is a standard T shaped stand. By taht I mean if you are looking down onto the stand it makes a big T. It only has three wheels not like the one that is K shaped in the other thread. But I got a couple of questions.

The bolts from my motor look like they are long enough to fit the stand holders, but I hit the flywheel when I try to put it on. So is there a way to use this thing? Does the flywheel and clutch have to come off?

Isn't there a special Porsche attachment for this thing? And does anyone have one I can borrow?

There is 2 ways to go $150 and get an adaptor ring that bolts to the standard USA type motor mount or $300+ and get a real motor mount that has at least 5 welded arms on it. This will make sense when you see what they look like.

You can also just get the adapter ring for !$130. Sold in a lot of places got ours from the ad in Panarama. I alo shave one if needed.

Yup that piece should do the trick. Or an adapter ring as others have mentioned.

Might need some washers to create some space to tighten the nuts down, I used one of my english sized sockets as a spacer, who needs that crap anyway?

I can take a picture for you tonight of how mine went on if you need it.

Oh also if you HAVE to buy an adapter ring you should be able to sell it used for a significant part of the intitial purchase price. They seem to go quickly on the used market. Doesn't sound like you'll have to buy one though. It is pretty awesome to have a board that helps out like that.

I think it's spelled a-l-o-e, and I use it when shaving, too, but I've never tried to shave a steel adapter. Why does it get hairy in the first place?
