View Full Version : Incompetence!

So at the last DE, I spun the car in turn 1 and packed the tire bead with grass and mud. I tried letting out a little air and digging it all out, but there was rocks and other trash in there (never leaked). So I finally caved and too the wheel to a shop. I would not recommend Ron's Used Tires for your tire work.

While they did have a sign that they were not responsible for lost hubcaps, lost lug nuts, damaged mag or custom wheels, they must really not take ANY pride in their work. You would be hard pressed to find greater incompetence than this. (at least ai got a new valve cap).

Why would you even go there?

Used tire store? Are you kidding? You took your car to a used tire store?

That does suck big time what they did to your rim, but I wouldn't let any employee of a used tire store near my wheels.

What's their address? Need someone to "even the score"?

Looks like they took your valve stem prop too... $3K will get you a Coats mag wheel safe tire changer. change 200 tires or so and it will pay for itself.

Just curious, how much money did you save by going to a used tire shop?

There's a better tire place in Winchester. They had no issues with mounting new Hoosiers on my Fikse rims. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Regardless, the shop is still liable. Your rims are not magnesium nor are they custom; they are stock rims.

Oh shit.... I don't really care. I was just looking for the first place that could dismount and mount a tire on a track wheel. I was just surprised that they could screw it up *that* badly. Almost as if they *tried* to do that.

I would never take my Fuchs there....or even the old Phonies that came with the car. I was more sweating the fact that the guy didn't understand me that it was a *good* tire and throw it away!!!!
