Hi there folks,

I am new to the board but have been hanging out over at Pelican Parts since I bought my SC back in December.

I am looking for a shop in the area to do some interior upholstery repair and am wondering if you all haev some recommendations.

Seatco in NOVA was recommended by ASG but I hear that the fellow over there who used to do all the work on Porsches has gone.

There is also Milla's Auto Upholstery in Kensington, MD and Alder & Mandel in Rockville.

Have any of you had upholstery repair work done in the area and have some recommendations you can make?

Here is the repair I have to make...

That's not a bad idea. Probably cheaper too.

Alder & Mandel is who we farm out our convertable top work to at our shop. We have always been satisfied with their work.

Try Vick's custom upholstery in Glen Burnie.. its worth the ride as he does excellent work and his prices are fair. I've used him for everything from Harley's to Ferarris and have been very pleased.

I would still check out Seatco -- those guys are pretty good.

Didn't see Seatco when when I first read the post.. they are also very good. Used them a lot when I worked for BMW.

I used Seatco about 10 years ago to redo my Targa top. They did a pretty good job, edges were in good alignment front and back. No recent experience.

We just had an unpleasant experience with Alder & Mandel this past week. They were swapping top frames for us on an E30. When they called to let us know that it was done, the price was almost double the original estimate!:XX They never bothered to pick up the phone. When we bitched about the lack of communication, they demanded cash in order to release the car. WTF, they do one car a month on average for us.
