The local BMW CCA has DIY days at local shops, sort of like our own tech sessions or Lifts for Charity events. It's $15 to register. I need to flush the brakes on my 330i and was thinking of going to their event this Sat. at J&F in Arlington. They also allow other brands, so if I get done in time, I may run home and grab the 993 to flush its brakes too. I have been traveling just about every time we've had a tech session this season. Anyone know about these BMW events? Cool atmosphere? Nit-picky tech bosses?

Please post a summary if you go. I would be interested. Warrenty just expired on mine.

Rick,

The CCA events are usually pretty laid back, get in get... it done. They're just as enthusiastic about the Marque as any. Tech boss is relatively new and not over bearing.

J & F is an excellent shop as they've been around for years and always supported the club..

Just came back from it. Very good group of folks, hardcore DIY'ers, nice cars, etc. J&F had 10 lifts open for us and a few techs to lend a hand. No coffee or fat pills, but they had lunch being delivered when I left. I flushed my brakes and feel a lot better now. Next one is at the dealership in Sterling and they said they probably won't allow other brands at that one. I need to flush my 993 brakes soon.

Oh, and they gave me a cool hat and mug. Definitely got my $15 worth.

Late to this thread ...

Been to a few RL and was the usual crowd of creditcard mechanics and DIY-ers. Felt right at home and the "hosting" shops did a great job.

Would go back again ...
