Mine is the spyder (or is it a 356) in 48 Hours, esp. because Nick Nolte drives a pink Cadillac, and when Nolte sees Eddie Murphy's Porsche, Murphy says "some honkie got the last pink Cadillac."

Those are all excellent, my favorite is "No Man's Land" from the 80's with Charlie Sheen. Outstanding driving scenes with lots of P-car showings.

A recent episode of Grays Anatomy has the Female OBGYN driving a Speedster... me thinks >> way too not-real >> as a real Speedster would have to be driven by a true car-person... cause if you don't know the vehicle > you are in for multiple stranded experiences..

Magnum PI's lady lawyer freind had a black 924S

In season two, Magnum gets chased by a 928. I am trying to remember, was it Higgins in the car with him? The guy in the 928 was shooting at them.

If you want insanely obscure references, there is an episode of Rumpole of the Bailey where a guy drives a blue 930 away from the scene of a brutal murder of a promising young lady........yeah, too obscure, I know.

I forgot, on the magnum season one bonus disc is a show that includes a very young Sharon Stone (swwinnggg batter!) and her crazy twin sister, also played by Sharon. The show starts with a flashback of the twins racing along the California coastline in a white 930. They have a cat fight and end up crashing the car over the cliff.

Awesome! Did I mention a young Sharon Stone?

Black 930 in the opening song/credits of TV's Lee Majors - "The Fall Guy".. That's kinda obscure ;)

(The 930 makes a huge fishtail slide -right hand corner, slides out to the left, as Colt Seavers (Lee Majors) jumps over it with his custom Chebby Pick em up)

because of my loyalty to the story and the music, I must offer the following correction:

The Big Chill's character with the Pcar was Nick (William Hurt) not Tom B...tho Tom's character, Sam Weber/JT Lancer, did try to launch himself into the driver's seat thru the open Targa roof.

here's a 30 second encapsulation of the film:

My uncle was head of Public Relations for the Magnum PI show (& Hawaii 5-O as well). Stan, his name, told me that Porsche was originally offered the Magnum car role in a 930 Turbo, but Porsche decided against it. After the success of the show and the attension the "Ferrari" was getting Porsche offered the show 2 million dollars a year for them to use a Porsche 928, but the show declined saying that the "Ferrari" was a character in the show & could not be replaced. The show later took Porsche money by featuring the 924S in the script.

Ferrari really took the Magnum Show quite serious. Mr. Ferrari's public image was that he did not leave the Ferrari factory for anyone or anything. That everyone must work around him & his car.

Stan said that this was not a truth. Everytime a new shipment of Ferrraris was delivered to the show they were accompanied by Mr. Ferrari himself. Stan met with him during each of these occasions.

So, let me get this straight. My favorite car company as a child was handed the chance to provide the lead 'car' on my favorite show as a child, but instead blew it off.

What will Porsche do next, build hybrid electric volkswagen minivans and let their sports cars get obese? :?

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando 1985. There was a punk drove a yellow long hood targa. The car was smashed up pretty good along the driver's side after a car chase that ended with the Porsche on its side. Arnold dragged the guy from the car, dangled him by the leg over the edge of a cliff for some interrogation, then dropped him off the cliff after some suitable corny comment.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but there was a late '60s early '70s 911S in the first matrix (I think it was the first one). The scene was in a parking garage, right before they went into a club. It was black I think, and nice.

Word on the street is that Keanu Reeves has a '95 993. Which doesn't help the value of my car. :|

Also, best 911 scene on TV, was the "World's Scariest Police Chases" when a guy stole his boss's mid-year '70s 911, and went on a crazy chase. The idiot narrating the show kept saying "its turbo charged engine is really giving the police a tough time".
