View Full Version : Need to borrow a cement saw

I have a down spout on the garage and one on the house that join under the drive way. It looks like the union is leaking causing a nasty flow of muddy water into my rear door well. Obviously this needs to be fixed before unseen erosion weakens the foundations and driveway. So does anyone have a concrete saw I can borrow for a few days? My plan is to cut an access hole where DoubleD thinks the leak is and work from there. All the soil around this area has been “disturbed” so the process should be relatively straight forward. Thanks in advance.

Circular saw with a diamond blade won't cut it? How much concrete do you need to cut through?

3" - 4" of concrete, several foot square. I was going up today to see about getting a blade or renting but thought I'd ask here first :(

DR, I've got a 7 1/4" diamond blade I have used with my circular saw to install new plumbing in my basement. You are welcome to it. Sorry I didn't answer sooner, first time I saw the post.

John, sorry to take so long to get back to you but stuff has been happening! I finally broke down and hired someone to “crack” my cement. Glade I did too. After cutting the pad they had a 20 year old swinging the sledge hammer till he was read to cry. Linda said I just didn’t need to die like that and I had to agree ;)
Thank you for the offer!

Royal Crabtree liked to use rebar and rebar makes for a hard day busting cement over cement with construction cloth.
