Looks clean. If everything is as nice as the outside, probably 45k? Jason, what are the 2.0 HSR cars going for these days?

from what i've seen in the past, the car is pretty much spotless.... but you will have to pay for that pedigree i'm sure... not to mention the excellence write up

uh yeah thats what we have been telling you all along - 911.....you don't need a 944 to learn momentum driving.  !!

Well, since it is a SWB car, I would assume that it would be more "tail happy" and "nervous" than the LWB cars. Maybe that would get you and everyone else permanently "off" my back ;)

I would like to have a very light well sorted car . . .

I do think I would really enjoy a very light car. I worry about how that car would be classed . . .

TOP CLASS. Nothing cooler/finer/sweeter/tighter imho than a well done swb 2.0 race prepared 911.

We went west a few years back and ran with these VARA guys.

Good drivers and good cars. That one should go for a premium $45 - $65 depending on motor and tranny condition. Rest is the same 'tween well built like 2.0L cars.

Don't think you'll notice the SWB vs. LWB thing that much ... SWB rotates a little quicker ... that's all ;)

Go for it!

ya, guess it wouldn't be a SPECcar anymore if he threw in the "reliability" factor

If you get it Todd, be forewarned. You wouldn't be able to use the car. It would be permanently covered in drool.

Sure does look nice :D

At 50 grand it ought to outperform your car - throw 20 at your 944 and see where you get :-). Probably not 1950 empty, but it'd get you a 3.0L, sorted transaxle and suspension. And some bodywork...

Maybe car control is car control, and while you may need to use different tools from your tool box, and even use them more frequently, it really is the same in the end? hmmmmmm

}{arlequin
09-11-2006, 05:59 PM
i cannot argue w/ that.

to help you ease into it, maybe you should start w/ something a little more tame... c'mon, help us speed up the fun. i hear there may be a well-sorted 912 available

BlackTalon
09-11-2006, 06:04 PM
A 912 may be a bit too much of a jump. He should first leap into an old VW Beetle -- it's kind of like a 911, but the power is more like he's used to :-) But of course knowing TD, he'll want to buy Herbie, but then he'll fret over how he may not be competitive because of the extra weight from the rally lights...

I noticed that car too. Was waiting to see a price even though i couldn't afford it regardless.

I seem to recall reading about the cost of buliding 2.0's to such a spec and it was enough to make even a 911 owner say 'wow' when he gets the invoice. Makes a 3.6 conversion seem absolutely cheap in comparison IIRC.

I bet that car flies (ie, already sorted out and not so tricky to drive) and will provide ear-to-ear grins for whoever buys it.

$eems much like any high compression motor -- $uch as a twin plug 2.8.

I always wanted to know what the steel to aluminum trailing arm conversion saved me. 5 lbs per side. :)
