Gary, if you like, you can call me @ 301.215.5463 during the day. I can get you in touch with someone that can help you. The 129 bodied cars are very nice!

Millersville Auto Exchange has a black on black. The top is a little tired but otherwise it appears very nice. Tim Coates is the owner and is a trustworthy guy. Mention my name. 410-987-2640.

1997 year is my favorite.

In recently read that article about the '97 model year. The guy who wrote it is a true enthusiast.

I'd like to buy a car from a private seller who has taken very good care of the car, and has all the maintenance records. I drove a privately-owned car last night that was a prime example of long-term neglect. And I'm not interested in buying a project car - at any price.

Buying a car from a dealer is usually a crap shoot. They often sell auctioned cars with questionable history. Some are good, some only look good. Buying this car may be an eye-opening experience.

KENROCKWELL says: "Driving the SL500 one learns what it must feel like to be a deity when freed from the shackles of place and time and the cares and worries that haunt ordinary drivers."

phew, I heard harp music when I read it. Nice cars though. Not cheap to maintain.

Find a benz wrench before you buy the car. I help a guy out that does a lot of Mercedes work, surely pays his mortgage. :)

I agree... a PPI would be a good idea. Need to find a car I like first. Then I'll see if a wrench has any reason to dampen my enthusiasm.

I use Euro Imports in Alexandria. FOr you rside of town there is Curry's - some like them, some don't.

Tim's is a '93, black w/tan. Asking 10k.

I talked with Tim, and mentioned you referred me. He didn't have much to say about the car, and directed me to his Auto Trader listing. Didn't find the listing on Auto Trader, so I left it at that.

I'm now negotiating terms on a local '92 SL500. Drove it yesterday. Cruises like "budda". ;)

Thx

Found my car, negotiated price today and will PPI Monday. It's black with a tan interior. Should be cruising it as early as Tuesday. :D

Thanks for the tips.

Sorry you had problems. He had it on several sites and was getting a bunch of calls. I guess you caught him at a bad time. Hope it works out.

Hey Mark. Had no real problems. He and I just didn't "conect" very well. You're right -- I probably called him at a bad time.

Gary, Congratulations. Looks that the 92 you found might be the way to go. Sounds like shouldn't need much based on the history we reviewed. If you have anymore questions about that car, what the tech tells you, or any other car you look at, don't hesitate to hollar. I'll do anything I can to help you.

It wasn't Tim, it was Keith, an employee of his. That explains it.
