I recently had MY01 996 done by a NOVA resident working his way through school. Though not a pro, he was more contientious, knowledgable and detailed then most pros. Spent 9 hours in my garage, and total cost was ~ $250. Results were fantastic - got rid of all my swirlies. Picture doesn't do his work justice.

>Zaino Detailing Service
>$80/~sedan; $120/~suv - Full exterior, wheel and tire treatment; three coats of sealant**
>$50/~sedan; $75/~suv - Claybar treatment and rewash
>$50/~sedan; $75/~suv - Full leather interior treatment/vacuum carpet
>$75/~sedan; $112/~suv - One-step machine polishing***
>$150/~sedan; $225/~suv - Two-step machine polishing***
>$0.75 per mile - Mobile detail rate, hose with running water must be available

I do NOT recommend Detail Authority (Herndon). I used them about a month ago, and found they missed a lot of things that were obvious to me when I arrived to pick-up the car. As a result, the manager had to do the follow-up work while I waited around in the lobby. So, I'll be interested in the recommnedations you get, because I'm looking for a different/better shop.

The one that works out Curry’s in Dulles did a good job on Linda’s ’87 Targa.

I used America's Auto Detail in Tyson's Corner. They did a great job taking out light scratches on my 911, and also did a terrific job on a friend's 993. I've seen them working on a late 50's Corvette too.

Little elbow grease
Dozen 100% cotton polishing rags
Can of 3M Hand Glaze
3-4 hours on a cool fall day in the driveway
Go back and forth, not in circles...
Removes all swirls, scratches...everything.

All for about $25

Hey, sign me up, too. I don't know how you can afford to do this for us so cheaply, Keith, but this shows the wonderful Dorki spirit. I'll drop my car off whenever would be a good time for you.
