Sad news indeed..
I wondered about Harleigh... as I had sent him an email just a week or so ago and he had not yet responded. And he was that guy who always followed-up. Rest In Peace.

RIP Harleigh. I just read the news in Der Vorganger. I only met you over the summer when buying your tired Club Racer 968. I thought to myself after listening to stories of 914-6 ownership and 968 DE/Club Racer with a trailer hitch on the back to bring a tire trailer and tools that this was a gentleman racer.

Harleigh sold me the car and threw in the entire bound set of 968 manuals, a file 2 inches thick of receipts since purchase of the 968. When reading through the receipts you started to understand a little more about the commitment; when your car breaks at Mid Ohio and you drove it there....you have a receipt for repairs at an Ohio P dealership before you can come home. Loved reading through everything on the car and your early club racing adventures with the 968.

Thanks for writing that up Dirk.

Thanks John, I met Harleigh way back in the 1990s and spent a lot of time with him at tracks and dinners over the years. As you stated a Gentleman.

Harleigh was one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet in the paddock. He was my 5th instructor on my first trip to Watkins Glen in 1998.
