Default 1976 912E/914 Parts For Sale

Gents, need to make some room, as I am a total parts horder these days.... I have the following left from my tear down. Parts are from a 1976 912E (same motor as 914)

Offering these here and other Porsche Forums first before ebay. Pay by Paypal preferred. All prices are B/O + shipping. Looking for fair deals, enthusiast to enthusiast. What doesn't sell gets scrapped. I'll never use any of this stuff....

Air Injection Octopus and pipes Octopus is in great shape, air tubes are in expected condition, one is slightly bent. Came out of head with no issue $35

Air Box - Air Box box is dirty but in good shape with all clips, horn, and mounting bolt/wingnut $50

FI Air Meter - Looks like the center flapper valve was blown out by backfire, had a jury rigged flap added. PO said it was running for several years after this fix. Unit looks good overall other than this. $50

Thermo Reactors - Relatively good condition, one bracket is cracked but can be welded easily. $250

Intake manifolds/runners for FI - These are dirty but in solid condition. $25

Car had a bit over 90K miles when parked and sat for 15+ years, original owner, lightly used. All parts came off and out without issue, and like the rest of the car need to be cleaned, etc.

Anyhow, drop me an e-mail if interested. spratel@gmail

"Thermo Reactors" NFI what these are but they sound cool. Unfortunately, I'm out of dilithium crystals at the moment. How many warps are they rated for?

no offense, and not trying to go too off track, but with only some 2000 (+/-) 912e's built, are any of these parts "rare" or hard to locate? Seems any parts that still work would be worth a lot. While the base 2.0L motor in 1976 was common with the 914, I thought all intake and exhaust items were NOT the same. GLWTS.

Default I will let you know...

Steve,

My deposit has been placed and a 912E which is supposed to be loaded on a trailer in CA today... I am not totally sure what all is needed but what I am sure it needs is as follows.

Lower dash knee pads (taking out the AC so I want to go back to non AC pads)

Exhaust headers

Exhaust and muffler

Heat exchanger repair

Passenger seat upolstry/seat.

Carpet (eventually)

I know you don't have any of these listed but if you know of any leads on these, or other good deals, please let me know...

Tim

Hey Tim, hope you're enjoying your 912E.

I don't have any of those parts, but for the most part the body/chassis is pure same era 911, or mostly plug and play compatible. There is some difference in transmission, particularly the input shaft due to being connected to the Type 4/914 motor.

Most of the engine is 76 era 2.0 Porsche 914. The FI system is different, obviously the engine tins and total exhaust system. To my knowledge, the Thermo reactors and air exchangers are exclusive to the 912E.

I dont know of any source for new heat exchangers, and as far as exhaust, it seems that Bursch is the most common if you are keeping the stock heat exchangers. Tangerine makes a really nice header/exhaust system for the 912E but you loose the heat exchangers.

As far as eliminating the thermal reactors, the bursch bypass pipes are the only ones I've found, run between 260 & 300. They bolt right up and perfectly replace the thermo reactors.

Check out the 912 registry, there is a section for 912 E's with tons of knoweledge. Not high traffic, but a quality source. 914 world is another great community, Porsche enthusiasts, and lots of motor knowledge.
