Oh, you're BMAN - great meeting you too! Didn't just enjoy our ride, it was awesome! I won't be foolish enough to try to emulate what you did, but it's still good to see how things are done at higher speed. I may be atypical in highlighting shifting, but the speed and accuracy of your heel/toe downshifting, while under perfect threshold braking, simply made my jaw drop with awe. Humbling stuff ...

If you'll be at the Glen, please save a spot to take me for another ride! Only for instructional purposes, of course.

I drove a white Cayman (wife's) on Saturday and brown 911 cab on Sunday. Though the 911 is heavier, I think I still enjoyed the 911 more.

I enjoyed seeing many of you there, including some familiar faces from autocrosses, and I look forward to seeing many of you at Watkins Glen. I'm hooked and will be doing a lot of track days this season!

Glad to see you found us. You did a fantastic job last weekend, made my job a lot eaiser and you were doing very well by Sunday. I look forward to seeing you at Watkins Glen.

Hey, I was only following your instructor's directions Seriously, I am sorry the communicator stopped working because I really wanted to talk you through the laps we ran. I am glad you enjoyed it but I think you would have gotten more out of it if the communicator was working.

Sorry, I won't have a passenger seat at the Glen. Nor would I want anyone in the car with me.....it's a wild ride.

Thanks for pointing me to this forum. Makes a lot of sense to chat with people we actually know, rather than anonymous people in the national/international forums.

Great instruction always makes the student look better ... if the student is willing to learn.

Looking forward to seeing you at WG too. Assuming BMAN won't let me ride strapped to the top of his car, maybe you can take me for an instructional ride.

BTW, I did make it to Summit main this week. Was a chance of thunderstorms, but the weather turned out to be great.

The communicator would have been nice, but I was watching intently, and our discussion after the session was very helpful. Thanks again for the ride!

BTW, I see that you're in Baltimore. I'm just north of Baltimore.

I'll be glad to take you out, might even get you as a stu again..
I think you picked up on one of the most important things about this stuff, controlling the speed demon, maintaining an open mind and focus on CONSISTENT,CONTROLLED smooth laps. It seems slow at first until your consistent lap after lap, then you notice your catching and passing other cars with half the effort it took before. Dog knows (and some of my former instructors) that I certainly could have done alot better with my focus.
See you at the Glen!

Some wiseass instructor once tried to drill that into my stubborn head.
See even a dog that continues to crap on the rug can still be beaten enough to learn something.
