Track wheels - what fits?

I've been drooling over these wheels for a while now. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=238763

They are advertised as:

8.5's - 37mm offset, 6.08" backspacing.
10's - 30.5mm offset, 6.58" backspace

What size tires are optimal for this setup? Also, he indicates they fit a 930. Being that my car has flares I figure they should fit my car, right? If I sell the 9" fuchs.... :D

I don't think they will fit without spacers. Your SC has turbo flares but it does not have the turbo trailing arms or the wide 930 front hubs. They will physically fit under the flares but you will likely need spacers, which then means longer wheel studs, etc. Probably not a bolt on adventure.

Instead of spacers/longer studs you could look for some adaptors (Porsche used them, for instance, on the early non turbo widebody 993's.)

As for tires, you may fit 245 on the front; at least a 275, and perhaps 295-315 on the rear depending... I would check out www.tirerack.com to get an idea of some brands and sizes that are available to begin with.

Did I hear a page?
Chris, I'm running 8" by 17" in the front and 9.5" by 17" in the rear. The back spacing on the rear is 5", which I believe is the same as stock 9" Fuchs. Jamie is right, you'll have back spacing issues not front spacing issues on the rear. As far as tires go, I'm running a 255/40/17 on the 9.5" rear. I almost have enough room for 275 but would have oil line and spring plate nut clearance problems. On a 10" wheel I'm sure you could easily run a 285 if you could find it in that size. On a 8.5" wheel I wouldn't go above 245. As Jamie said, without turbo trailing arms, it will require some math to get those to fit.

Thanks guys. When I get back I need to do some measuring. My car has spacers front and rear, ~2" rear and ~1/4" front. I'm not the sharpest tool, looks like I need to do some homework.
