I am trying to find a place to host my photos - the Dorki gallery doesn't want to accept them.

Here's a start of things to come (actually many are worse :) ):

Nice pics Steve, I would have stopped in @ Dorkiville but I had the little heads with me this afternoon and my son was more interested running around the trails at the big track than he was watching the cars.

THANKS, Steve. I love seeing my car (#97), but I wonder why I was leaning over like that???

Coaxing the car around the corner?
Trying to see if anyone is passing on the right?
Looking for a map in the glove box?
Likely 3 point harness not pulled tight enough. It takes almost as much practice to do it right in the car as it does out! I used to lean on the door with my left elbow out the window! Still do on occasion, but not as often (but only after years of rude comments and Monday quarterbacking).

Eli,

What car were you driving? I probably have some photos of it I didn't post. I didn't see you in the paddock, so forgot to look for you on teh track. We all look the same with our helmets on!

Sure, I wish I had done a better job on some of them. It's a new camera, I need it to hone my skills. My son moves a lot slower, so composition time is significantly longer.

you can always practice on girls... their speed is somewhere between your son and cars... that way you can work your way up

Yes, with all of the smokin' hot grid girls attending PCA DEs, I am surpised you haven't already started trying that. Use little Z-man as bait. I am sure that would make your wife happy if she caught you

Not sure who gets photo credits for this pic, but its a good one.

Hey Dave....you might want to dial in a little more roll stiffness

yeah, although it looks "vintage cool", I'm kinda getting tired of losing 1/4 of my available grip- no wonder it understeers  (I may have to grill Kurt to find out how he keeps all 4 on the pavement... if I go much stiffer I may not be able to drive it on the streets any more though)

Eli did a great job shooting those pics. I have this one as background on my office machine. Sadly, it's the last time that I managed to have Todd *behind* me. It's back to keepin' up w/ the Joneses... or the Dauberts

Revenge is sweet. I am sure you will hand it back to me at SP at the end of august, or worse yet, at VIR. I bet the tables will turn . . . :(

Oh, the horror!!!!  Why not get a DD POS and make the grean-machine "passable" to get to the track but just barely so....?

That is a lot of wheel lift. More spring rate is needed .. then fine tune with sways. I know, that you know I know, that you don't know what is in there for TBs so.... crack it open and put some 29 / 30s in the rear.

I'd help with the job... would even bring some beer. Need a place? I volunteer Pipes garage or my d-way car-port.

I'm not listening to you evil people.... I'm trying to save my money for de's, gas, food, hotels and, of course, tires and you're telling me
to blow it on some totally un-sexy rods that you stick into a greasy hole (they are not even chrome!).... not nice, not nice at all

there's an unquantifiable satisfaction factor that comes out of beating on a "daily driver" (it's almost road legal, has a horn,
blinkers, luxurious interior)

besides, I already have a daily driver, I just don't like driving it as much as the green car

Dave... err, Dr. Phil,

Ok, so it's not a porsche, but the gen 1 Golf/Rabbits are hella sweet. Was toying with the idea of searching for a Gen 1 or 2 GTi before I settled with the 944.

Mike,
They are really fun cars, and in today's traffic, they feel pretty small too. I'm not even sure if it cracks 2000lbs. I keep harping about it but it was the best sight-unseen $1k ebay special I ever found ;)

It refuses to break down and if you know what to look for, will last for years and years. I feel guilty b/c other than cap/rotor/plugs I've done nothing for it. I think it's time for oil change....

Go to Ebay they’re dumping old F1 Jaguar parts (don’t worry there’s no stigma of low price).

I see someone's GTi has at least one "security" upgrade in the form of those "armor plates" by the notoriously easy to "pick" door locks. Neat car's.. Sub 2000lbs and even with only 90hp a kick to drive.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I'll browse...

To the 'racer' Dave,
yeah the armor plates do their job allright, but if you look real closely at the passenger side door, you'll see where a crackhead has managed to find a weak spot. Instead of glass in the little triangle part, it's just duct tape. (It's been that way since LAST March LOL.- the other security device, more like a "deterrent" is the fact that I *still* have the broken glass on the passenger floor. Makes it more "ghetto" and less desirable, I think.) Now the only soundtrack is the tectonics pipe capped off w/ a cherry bomb at the end. It is a blast to drive, especially when you don't care about potholes etc. It has a shorter geared Scirocco tranny so it moves very well............................. but only up to 80mph
I wish I had the time/$$ to fix that car.
