After lying dormant or incubating for a year, LeSchanderitis hit my system full force a few days ago and I ordered a chip from Steve Wong. It is the first time I've "fixed" something on my car that wasn't broke. It's such an improvement, I fear I'm on a slippery slope. Somebody stop me!!! I think "LeSchanderitis" is a more severe form of "Whileyourinthereitis". It's deadly stuff. You have to clean your garage out to get rid of it. Some people even move.

Dan, you need medication. Three Pabst pounders, taken every 12 hours. It's not pleasant, but you have to take your medication faithfully, as prescribed. And no browsing the Techquipment sections of magazines or p-car websites for 30 days.

Wouldn't Pabst aggravate the condition?

Pabst is your pennance, not your salvation.

What's next? Engine swap? Clutch replacement? Suspension upgrade and jacked rear end? A 993?

I'm thinking green neon lights spelling "Steve Wong" along the rocker panels. Too rice?

Guys, I'm honored and humbled to have a Porsche-illness named after me. Dan, in all seriousness, if you drive at all like I do (and not like Jim does), know that your rev limiter is probably gone. So be careful above 6200 rpms, or you may be doing some necessary and huge repairs, unlike the gratuitous and never-ending mods I do. The supposed Autothority chip that came with my new engine caused a lot of problems. When I swapped the stock chip back in, it felt like I had a whole new car.
While you're installing that chip, you might as well drill your airbox and throw on a Fabspeed Euro pre-muffler. OK, now I feel better.

Rick--
Funny you should mention the rev limiter. I hadn't discussed it with Steve prior to purchase, but Marc and I exchanged some pm's about it. Marc suggested the limit on Steve's chip might be 6800. So I conducted an experiment to test his theory. He was correct. Ask Marc what he owes me for this info.

Sheesh, I had to tell RL what the car feels like when it hits the rev limiter. He'd never done before I tutored him. Kids nowadays!
