I installed the rebuilt cd box, new cap, rotor, coil and red fuel pump relays. The car ran for 5 minutes and died just like before. I pulled the 6 pin cd box connector and measured the voltage at pin #15 after it died. The voltage read 0.1V. I let the car sit awhile and the voltage jumped back up to 11.9 V...the car started without hesitation. 5 more minutes and same problem. Is there some weird thermal switch that controls the voltage to my cd box? The car is cis , so its not computer related. Please advise if you can.
Thanks

might want to recheck grounds and your hot.. or have a standby direct battery ground and hot .. then when it happens again try one wire at a time jump to see where the problem is comming from............Ron

Not sure if this helps but, I had a similar problem (without out the benefits of your analysis o.1v versus 11.9v testing the #15 pin) with my 76 Targa. Would run for five minutes and then died, almost as if it became extremely rich. Wouldn't restart until cooled for at least 20-30 minutes. Eventually, wouldn't restart at all. Had already replaced all FI components myself, had a shop test warmup & control pressure and replace Bosh fuel pump when showed up weak. Still didn't fix.
My solution? Bosch certified mechanic traced it to cd-box wiring. Had installed a new distributor earlier (several months) and we apparently did not re-connect wires correctly. Interesting that it took so long to show up. I questioned the mechanic on this (thinking foul play from earlier visit) but, they had never worked on anything before asides from setting CO and changing oil. Once re-did or switched wiring (don't remember details) car has run flawlessly.
Best of luck.
