Yikes....that sucks but doesnt suprise me. There were numerous complaints from surrounding residents who couldnt stand the noise (obviously not race fans). On Sunday, they were giving away free tickets to the local (disturbed) residents as an apology for the niose.......so they could get closer?!? :?
Which reminds me, I should post some pictures of last years races. I was working at the event last year and got to get some pretty cool pics from the pits and paddocks. You guys will have to keep on top of me if I forget to post

It was on the news last night and there was an article in the Post this morning.
Dang, just when we thought the city was starting to turn around ...

That bites :x The boys and I had a great time last year (except that it was hotter than hell). Spent 3 days at the track. I also have a bunch of photos if anyone is interested. Below is an example of what you find at events like this. Needless to say, the boys found this moment less exciting than I - "who is this old man??".

Bummer! I didn't get to go last year since it was the same weekend as the Pittsburgh Vintage Races (wanted to see the 356's), and the dates were the same. I noticed they were different times this year, and was looking forward to ALMS.

Greg - that's just a warm up question, right?
For those that don't know, he is arguably the greatest LeMans driver in history ... Mr. Derek Bell.
I have a picture from almost the same spot with him as well. Most of the memorbilia that I have autographed by him came from Goodwood and Rennsport.
For bonus points I believe the other driver is Rinaldo Capelli (maybe ?)

Doug, it wasn't meant as a question to the forum, just the thoughts going thru the boy's head. They don't know Derek Bell from Santa Claus. The other fellow is his DB's Audi team mate, Michael Gallati (sp). Gallati has won the Speed Challenge in GT a last couple years.

Sorry Greg, I read it as a question and didn't pay any attention to the quotes. I see where you were coming from now.

 I was just about to post a message asking who is going, getting tickets, etc.. I was especially excited about this year because I was also in Pittsburgh to watch the vintage races last year, and I had to hear my friends bragging about it for a good month or so. GRR!
If anyone wants to read the post article, you can do so here:

Doug--
Did you ever get reeled in. That's obviously Barry Manilow.

If you like vintage racing events make sure to attend Brian Redman's Jefferson 500 at Summit Point in May. We went last year and had a great time. $25 per car admission.
