I posted a couple weeks ago about refinishing my track wheels. My goal was to take it from all black to just a "cleaned up" lip. Whoops.

Thanks all - to be clear, I did not refinish them. I tried to clean up the first wheel and was not happy with what I did, so I gave them to a friend of a friend who does this stuff as a hobby. I've never met the gentleman, but he's run with PCA and ACNA.

Tires removed / wheels stripped / refinished / remounted the tires (flipped at my request) / rebalanced. Good communication with progress pics.

I have no idea who painted them to begin with. However, I know that I'm at least the 3rd Dorki to own these wheels (Jose/OldTee/me).

I had my Fuchs redone by a small company outside of Baltimore. No, I'm not happy. They bead blasted, spray painted the centers and polished the lips. There was significant pitting on the lips which they said they could do nothing about.

The rims looked ok when they came home but the paint is already chipped in several places and I think I could have done it myself to at least their level.

BTW, X100 on how nice yours came out.
